Department of clinical pharmacy was established in September 2016.It consists of 4 full-time teachers, including 2 associate professors; 1 teacher with doctor’s degree, 3 with master’s degree. There are 2 directors of China Clinical Medicine Evaluation Committee, 2 Pharmaceutical Committee members of Shandong Provincial Geriatrics Research Institute, and 2 safety experts in the field of Tai’an pharmaceutical circulation.
At present, teachers of the clinical pharmacy department undertake the teaching task of 5 courses ---clinical pharmacology, clinical drug therapy, pharmacy administration, pharmacoeconomics and introduction to clinical pharmacy, with a teaching workload of about 800 hours per academic year for all college level students. At the same time, they undertake the educational task of clinical pharmacy postgraduates, and clinical drug therapy is a high quality course for graduate students at the university level.
For nearly three years, teachers edited 2 planned textbooks including Pharmacology and Pharmacology learning guide as chief editor, 1 textbook- Medical functional experiment as deputy editor, and participated in the editing of 5 textbooks including Clinical Pharmacology, clinical drug therapeutics, and Pharmacology. They undertook 4 superior Teaching topic.Teachers won 1 third prize award in the Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition of Chinese Pharmacology Association, 1 second prize award of Shandong Universities micro-teaching Competition, 1 third prize award of Taishan Medical University Micro-teaching Competition.
They undertook 6 superior research projects, of which 2 supported by the National Natural Science Foundation, 4 of department level, with a total funding of 310,000 yuan. They published 8 papers as the first author or correspondent, among which 2 were SCI, and won 2 other awards.
Guided by the teachers of clinical pharmacy department, students won 1 second prize in the Eighth National Medicine Forum, and 1 excellence award of poster.They guided 4 the National Undergraduate Innovation Training Project.
