Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis was established in July 2001. Currently, there are 6 full-time members, among whom 2 are professors, and 3 are associated professors; and 2 teachers received doctor degree, 4 received master degree. Four teachers are supervisors of postgraduate and one teacher are awarded as renowned teachers of Taishan Medical University, and 5 teachers serve as members of Shandong Association for Instrumental Analysis(SAIA).
Now Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis mainly undertakes 4 graduate courses, including the course of Selected Topics on Modern Pharmaceutical Analysis，Advanced Instrumental Analysis，Chromatographic Analysis of Drugs， Biopharmaceutical Analysis. At the same time, the department also undertakes 7 course of junior college students and undergraduate students, including Pharmaceutical Analysis, Traditional Chinese Medicine Analysis ，Industrial Pharmaceutical Analysis and Biopharmaceutical Analysis and so on. The average annual teaching workload is 1600 hours. The course of Pharmaceutical Analysis and Traditional Chinese Medicine Analysis are province-level excellent courses, and Pharmaceutical analysis is a province-level special course for adult education.
Since 12th Five-Year Plan, our department edits 9 textbooks (of which one is editor in chief and another 8 are associate editor or co-editor), accomplishes 6 teaching researches of Shandong Province, Pharmaceutical Education Association and Taishan Medical University, and publishes 6 papers in the journals. The department has received a third prize of Shandong Soft Research Science, 5 prizes of Taishan Medical University ( including one first prize of outstanding teaching achievement and four second and third prizes). At the same time we pay attention to developing students’ ability, instruct them to participate different competitions and get some achievements ,including 1 second prize of National Pharmaceutical College / Pharmacy / Chinese medicine university students' innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. 7 national college students innovation and entrepreneurship training programs were funded .
Since 2011, 15 research projects have been funded by different angencies, including 3 Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation. The total research funds amounted to more than 50 thousands. Many achievement awards were received , containing 5 prizes of scientific research achievements of universities in Shandong and scientific and technological advance in Tai’an, and 10 prizes awarded by Taishan Medical University, 42 papers published as the first or corresponding authors, among which 18 papers were covered by SCI and EI, and 2 invention patents.
